Day 1 - Americans Have Landed

Hello! ​

First dinner at Picnic! Our wine was 3€! 

Yesterday was a wild ride! Today I'm sitting in our apartment in Barcelona, looking out into a small courtyard filled with neighbor's hung clothing. It's not too hot outside -- although we have no ac inside so Josh and I are both laying on the floor to stay cool with a fan blowing on us. We arrived around 7pm (Barcelona time) last night in Barcelona after a total of three flights. Our first flight was smooth. Our second flight (7 hours long) we ran to and almost missed! Once on, we received wine complimentary with our dinner which Josh spilled all over his lap. Our final flight was smooth but we arrived a bit late. We then took a taxi to the general area of our apartment's location but we couldn't find it anywhere! We looked for about an hour for the apartment. Up the street, down the street, back up. We attempted to ask people where it was located with little luck. Finally we found the apartment and someone let us in. At this point, we were late meeting the host and she had left. Ah! We met her neighbor named Alberto who helped us get in contact with our host again. (Alberto was actually from the U.S. and had moved to Barcelona a year and a half ago with his wife.) He was a life saver! Our host came back to the apartment to meet us. She was so so nice and very apologetic just as we were. Finally, we were in Barcelona with a place to stay! At 10pm, we went to dinner at a Tapas place. Delicious!
