Day 23 - I Think It's Time To a move To Interlaken

Hello!

Fondue for two

Fondue for two

Today was our first full day in Interlaken, Switzerland and it was perfect. Yesterday we left Florence, Italy by train. Florence had amazing food and beautiful views but it was a bit too touristy for our liking. As we arrived in Interlaken, I started grinning from ear to ear. I have a duel citizenship in America and Switzerland (I am Swiss by blood) so this country always has a special place in my heart. For dinner, we had traditional cheese fondue. YUM. We ate so much it hurt. The pot of hot cheese we received was massive and we enjoyed dipping bread, potatoes, veggies and pears into it.

Today we woke up in the lovely apartment we are staying at. Our room looks out over fields to the mountains. There is a sweet creek nearby that we can hear and a plethora of cow to look at. It's like a dream. The air in Switzerland is so unbelievably fresh that I always feel like I am truly breathing. I want to inhale until I completely fill my lungs with the new, clean air and empty it of any sour air.

Josh went to coop, the grocery store chain here, to buy breakfast materials. We ate eggs, yogurt, bread with jam and cheese for breakfast. Yum yum yum. I love Swiss food. We then headed to Lake Thun to go kayaking. It was only 35€ for 3 hours of kayaking! We hopped in the kayake and glided away. The view from the lake was jaw dropping. We would paddle and then just stop to take it all in. We covered more than half the length of the lake and then turned back around and headed along the edge. We found a rope swing to play on and Josh had a blast swinging from the cliff's edge. After our 3 hour kayaking excursion, we were both exhausted and badly burned. We sat on the edge of lake Thun, overly happy, and ate lunch.

For dinner we ate Chinese food because I wasn't feeling too well and Asian food always makes me feel better. Josh always says I'm part Swiss and part Asian and somehow ended up in America. Hehehe. It's kinda true... Swiss by blood and Asian by tastebuds. Dinner was fabulous. Now sleep and a 6 hour hike tomorrow!

All the best,

Lilly
