Day 13 - I Want To Paddle Forever
Hello!
Josh paddling
Today was amazing. My favorite day thus far for sure. Josh and I woke up, had breakfast at the cafe next to us and headed to Monterosso on the train. We decided today would be a beach day. Once there, we found a man who rented out paddle boats with slides attached. We immediately took one out on the ocean. We paddled around and found caves, grottos and wide open ocean. There were no guidelines with the paddle boats so we took it everywhere! Josh and I had such an amazing time! I was beaming.
Paddle boarding in Italy
Finally, we took the boat back in and decided to continue our water activity streak. Neither of us had ever been paddle boarding so we decided to try it! Ocean paddle boarding! This was the thing Josh REALLY wanted to do. A man gave us 2 brief "lessons" and then pushed us out into the ocean. New love. I want to join a paddle board team. We went around for a while and then I started trying more difficult things. Such as yoga on my board. I did a head stand on my paddle board in the middle of the ocean! IT WAS AWESOME! Josh and I agreed that we could have stayed out on the boards all day.
My dinner
We took a train back home. The water here is so salty! It would put up a fight against the Dead Sea. I mean.... It's really salty. My arm tasted like a salt stick. Yes, I licked my arm. It took two showers to get all the salt off! For dinner, we found a little seafood restaurant in La Spezia. I love how Europeans take over the streets at night with tables and chairs to eat dinner. Our dinner had eyes! We both ordered seafood and received whatever they wanted to give us. We played operation on our creatures throughout dinner. Worth it. We had homemade tiramisu for dessert that was out of this world.
Thats all for now!
Ciao,
Lilly
